Rural Hotel Can Carol is in an old house from the 14th century, completely and authentically restored, and strategically located near the paleolithic caves of Abric Romani, in the historic area of La Font de la Reina - the ancient road from Barcelona to Madrid. The house is a great surprise. In a tiny hamlet, it at first appears just an old facade. Once inside, it is full of fascinating public rooms, a courtyard, restaurant and gardens. The seven rooms are differently decorated, all ensuite, simply decorated and with pleasant furniture. There is satellite television in each room, telephone, internet connection, air conditioning, laundry service and room service. In the garden there is a swimming pool and terrace for the warmer days. The hotel is close to Igualada, close to the major roads that cross Cataluna from north to south and east to west. Just an hours drive to the airport and Barcelona, close to Montserrat and fifteen minutes drive to Vilafranca del Penedes. Breakfast is served and you may dine at the hotel. The food is very good and the dining room is a serene and pleasant room, however you need to reserve in advance. Katina, the chef, will make you very welcome. Note that this is a particularly difficult inn to find. Capellades has a higher and lower section and Can Carol is in the lower section. Follow directions very carefully...
