Read's Hotel

Located just outside the small town of Santa Maria, in the heart of beautiful countryside, is this small country hotel -- a combination of fantasy and luxury. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and terraces and a large outdoor pool (as well as a heated indoor pool with sauna, solarium, gym and jacuzzi) it is the perfect place to relax. For those who prefer more active pursuits, there is a tennis court and several golf courses in the surrounding areas. The rooms are of three types, standard double (although there is nothing standard about these lovely rooms which have stunning views across the Tramuntana mountains); Superior double rooms all with their own private terrace and Suites which are spacious, with their own lounge and terrace. Read's has a very fine restaurant which has a Michelin star and whose chef, Marc Fosh, has been described as the best on the island. The restaurant is in beautiful building with arches soaring 30 feet and with Italian frescoes reminiscent of the 17th century. The menus are creative and prize-winning.
