This small hotel was on a well-known magazine's list as one of the world's best new hotels. New it is not, fortunately. It was built in 1673 and was used by the Clarisas until 1979. Now it is a wonderful small hotel created by an energetic and dedicated young team who take care of their guests with great attention. Their philosophy has been to create the most relaxing, tranquil and aesthetic space possible in this lovely old building. The ground floor houses the reception, kitchen, vestry chapel and choir living rooms, and a terraced cafe. The swimming pool is located in the old orchard. Of the 21 rooms, some surround the cloister at the centre of the hotel; other rooms are on the first and second floors. The single rooms (for one person) are very small, being the original nun's cells. There are airy patios, day beds, and charming corners everywhere. The convent is surrounded by grapevines, olive trees, oregano and thyme and the orchard has orange, lemon, palm, fig and pomegranate trees. The village is surrounded by great landscapes of forests and vineyards, and there are other small villages of significant cultural and historical heritage nearby. The small restaurant serves delicious meals made from local products and specialities, and the dinner costs approximately 30 euros. This is a quiet, intimate and romantic inn and is not suitable for children.
