Posada La Casa de Arriba

This 17th century stone house sits at the top of the village overlooking the fabulous mountains of Gredos, and surrounded by a garden with ancient trees. Restoration has been carefully carried out to preserve the flair of the past. The hotel has two floors: on the ground floor there is a spacious entrance hall, a lounge and a grand fireplace (it used to be the kitchen), one double room and a dining room. Old wooden stairs take you up to the first floor where the library and the rest of the guestrooms are located. The decoration is very special, combining Asian and antique furniture, warm coloured fabrics for the bedcovers and curtains, authentic stone and wooden floors, terracotta floors with fossil remnants, wood beamed ceilings and fresh apple baskets. Enjoy Teresa’s special family and local recipes. Breakfast is fresh orange juice, home-made cakes and jams…delicious. The hotel is located 170 km. from Madrid and 60 km. from Avila.
