General Notes

Walking, horseriding, fishing, mineral searching,canoeing. Historical routes: Santillana del Mar, Covadonga, Comillas. Nearby beaches. Ryan Air flys from the UK (Stansted airport) to Santander airport. Brittany Ferries sails from Plymouth to Santander twice a week, Wednesdays and Sundays. P and O Ferries offers sailings from Portsmouth to Bilbao.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled at least 7 days before reservation, no hotel penalty. If cancelled 7 days or less before reservation penalty equal to cost of one night per room booked. In case of no-show, 100% of complete stay charged. A 15 euros cancellation fee per room booked will be charged by Inns of Spain on ANY reservations that are confirmed and then cancelled by the client. The Inns of Spain cancellation fee may be credited towards any future bookings within 12 months.

This beautiful country house consists of a group of refurbished buildings dating back to the 15th and 17th centuries. The architectural features of the original structures have been preserved. Surrounded by the magnificent natural landscapes of the Picos de Europa mountain range and the Deva and Cares rivers, it is an ideal place to enjoy tranquillity and nature. Bedrooms are uniquely designed with wooden windows and doors, dried flowers and beautiful fabrics. The dining room, complete with fireplace, is a warm setting for breakfast. The hotel is located 50 km from Santander and has six double guestrooms. Meals are not served at the inn, and there are no restaurants in the village, but Panes is only 3 miles away (10 minute drive) and there are several restaurants there. This is mainly a "walkers" inn, with fabulous hiking for miles around.

Characterful, eccentic but a little too cluttered. Very friendly staff, eager to please. Wonderful breakfasts. No evening meals provided and nearby Panes was a bit of a disappointment for restaurants. Tortuous drive to and from the village, particularly at night!
