Why |
Arcos is one of Andalucia's most dramatically positioned pueblos blancos (white villages), Arcos de la Frontera sits on a a rocky limestone ridge, and its white houses and stone castle walls stop at the sheer cliff face that drops to the fertile valley of the river Guadalete below. Arcos was declared a national heritage site in 1962, for its architecture, location and the labyrinth of cobbled streets that lead to the Castillo de los Arcos. Below the old town is the Guadalete river lined with olive and orange groves and a reservoir, the Lago de Arcos, which is good for a swim in summer. |

We have a variety of hotels in Arcos de la Frontera, some of them in the charming section of the older town and others in Cortijos in the surrounding area. Driving and parking in the old part of Arcos is not recommended – the streets are very narrow and there is almost no parking. Leave your car at the foot of the old town and walk or take a taxi up. |
