Casa de los Bates

Situated near Granada's sunny tropical coast, is this palatial house dating back to the 19th century which has been declared an historic monument of the city of Motril. Set on the top of a hill with wonderful views across the sea and Salobreña Castle, it is a hotel of outstanding character and charm. Surrounded by 20.000 square metres of tropical gardens which contain one hundred year old palm trees, tropical trees, a pigmy palm brought from Cuba, waterfalls and an Arab viewpoint, the hotel has a special feeling of grandeur and charm. The ground floor has a hall with a large piano and two elegant, tastefully furnished lounges: the ground floor is also used by the owners. The aristocratic master suite and suite have marble floors and terraces overlooking the Mediterranean in the distance. Other rooms are on the ground floor (they are fairly small and not as attractive as the suites). Guests are spoilt with a delicious breakfast which includes natural fresh fruit juices made with tropical fruits grown in its garden: mango, papaya, and bananas, included in price. A romantic swimming pool lies among the gardens. Dinner may be ordered in advance at a cost of 45 euros per person. This would be a perfect setting for a wedding or other celebration and the owners can arrange catering for such events.
