When |
Alicante has a mild, Mediterranean climate and is pleasant to visit year-round. Late Spring and early Autumn are particularly pleasant and, of course, summer (but it can get crowded). |
|
Why |
Alicante is the capitol of the province of Alicante and is one of the most well-known towns on the Costa Blanca. Costa Blanca describes the white beaches stretching for miles along the coast, perfect for those who love the sea and beach life. This is a busy cosmopolitan town, with lots of people, shopping, restaurants and activities. There are several historic sites ( cathedrals, churches, old buildings, the Castillo de Santa Barbara – a huge medieaval fortress), a busy harbor, an extensive shopping area. The Alicante airport is one of the biggest for incoming charter flights in Spain. There is a regular ferry service to the Balearic Islands from here. |
