A Coruna has a large, busy, harbour catering to commercial transport, fishing boats, cruise liners and yachts. Buildings facing the harbout have galeria style facades with an interesting of glass, white frames and structural components (nicknamed the glass city). The city is a pleasant combination of old and new – with the world’s oldest operational lighthouse, la Torre de Hercules, dating back to Roman times and the futuristic Domus building, both of which overlook the ocean. The city can be explored on foot or by tram. There is good shopping here (in the new town) and lots of interesting restaurants. |
