Country Hotel: CharacterIn Morana, in the heart of Galicia, is this 16th century manor house which has been faithfully restored and is now a charming small hotel with just 13 rooms. The property is surrounded by an old stone wall and has 40,000 square metres of garden and groves with 2 impressive horreos (central fireplace), a keep, a dovecot (dove's nests) and a chapel. Within this extensive property there are ideal spots for relaxed conversation, reading or walking. The traditions of the region, and a great part of its artistic and historical heritage revolve around Santiago de Compostela (38 km. away). The main dining room is in the gallery leading from the main house to the chapel, with large windows on both sides giving a magnificent panoramic view of the estate. On the house's upper level is the current gallery. The old stables of the estate have been completely refurbished and converted into wonderful guest rooms, each of which is named after a woman married to a male member of the Varela family, the owners since the 16th century. The rooms are decorated in warm colours and have full ensuite bathrooms, telephone and television. ...Visit

Can Bonastre Wine Resort)was awarded the Silver Medal from the Challenge International du Vin. We highly recommend this small hotel - the rooms are gorgeous and the wines sublime.
